Drama workshops and storytelling for Modern Foreign Languages
Our Leap into Language programme of drama sessions was launched in 2008 to support the teaching of MFL in primary schools, and we have now worked with over 60,000 children in schools across the UK.
Whether you are introducing your little ones to French Fun, launching your KS1 pupils into communication, immersing your KS1 and KS2 children in traditional fairytales, or exploring the adventures of The Three Musketeers with your KS3 students, each level is catered for through our range of drama sessions, which have been specifically developed to support the teaching of French, German and Spanish through interactive drama activities.

French Fun for Early Years
Your youngest pupils can have fun with French in this Early Years’ Story Hunt workshop, as they go on an adventurous day trip to Paris. They will find out how to travel there, how to greet the Parisian people, how to count their Euros and what to take on a French picnic. Ooh la la!
"This was spot on what I was looking for: using French vocabulary they know and making it fun! The children came back to their classroom buzzing with excitment after the session."
Elisabeth Poirel, Abercorn School, St John's Wood -
Language Launchpad!
Launch your KS1 pupils into languages with a journey to the Galaxy of Communication. Watch your class blast off and grow in confidence as they explore and experiment with your chosen language. This is the perfect introduction to the study of MFL.
"The children were really engaged and really liked the stories and activities. The teachers have also gained some good ideas and are now really enthusiastic when teaching French."
Anne-Sophie Cousin-Poiron, Beecholme Primary School, Mitcham, Surrey -
MFL Storytelling
Groups of up to 120 children can come together for these inspiring storytelling performances presented in your chosen Modern Foreign Language. Using the total immersion method, two well-known, traditional tales are told in a highly interactive format.
This unique approach will develop your children’s listening and speaking skills and increase their enthusiasm for language learning. Even the shyest child is given the confidence to use another language due to the familiar structure of the stories.
Choose from the following story pairs:- Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Little Pigs
- Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood
"Our boys loved the experience. The vocab and phraseology level was spot on and the constant repetition was exactly as needed but fun at the same time. The facilitator was a star performer who looked as though he was enjoying the show as much as the boys!"
Gill Howard, St Anthony’s Prep School, Hampstead -
Les Trois Mousquetaires
Journey back in time to the turbulent and riotous streets of Paris. Les gardes du Cardinal are pitted against Les Mousquetaires du Roi. The threat of violence hangs in the air, fights break out on every corner and impassioned mottos ring out:
"Vive le Cardinal!""Tous pour un, un pour tous!"
D'Artagnan, a brave and impetuous young man from the countryside, longs to travel to Paris and join the famed and revered Mousquetaires. But with the odds stacked against him and obstacles facing him at every turn, will D'Artagnan ever achieve his dream?"The pupils really enjoyed the content and learned about French history and culture as well as the language. It was much more fun and engaging than other MFL theatre sessions I have previously seen."
Emily Richardson, West London Free School, Hammersmith
