Adventures with Baxter Bear

Baxter Bear's Rainforest Adventure

Subject: Geography
Age Group: 5-7 Year Olds (KS1)

Venture deep into the Brazilian rainforest with Baxter, encountering an array of curious creatures and exploring what would happen if this habitat were to be destroyed.

Using drama activities, children will take various modes of transport to the rainforest: from a coach to a plane to a wobbly rope bridge. They will also uses their senses to explore the rainforest as well as to create a soundscape together.

Curriculum Link

  • Place knowledge: understand geographical similarities and differences through studying the human and physical geography of a small area in a contrasting non-European country

Where in the UK is Baxter Bear?

Subject: Geography
Age Group: 5-7 Year Olds (KS1)

Join Baxter Bear on a whistle-stop tour of the UK as he uses his compass to find the capital cities, learning about the UK’s surrounding seas in this fun-filled adventure.

The children will take an imaginary journey to London, Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff to discover what life is life around the UK. 

Curriculum Link

  • Locational knowledge: name, locate and identify characteristics of the four countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom 
  • Geographical skills and fieldwork: use world maps, atlases and globes to identify the United Kingdom and its countries; use simple compass directions (North, South, East and West)

Where in the World is Baxter Bear?

Subject: Geography
Age Group: 4-7 Year Olds (Reception & KS1)
Available in London

Travel further afield with Baxter as he learns more about life around the world, stopping off in France, Mexico and Brighton and picking up some French and Spanish along the way.

The children will make new discoveries about life around the world, including investigating what the locals like to eat and exploring some well-known landmarks.
