Drama & MFL Inset Courses

Drama Inset (Training) for Teachers

A Freshwater drama Inset course provides teachers with the skills, confidence and knowledge to use drama as an effective teaching tool in all areas of the curriculum. It will help you develop your children's speaking and listening, social skills, self-expression and confidence.

The relaxed, supportive and enjoyable course is delivered in your school and follow-up notes are provided.

The courses can be used to stimulate the use of drama in your school and develop creative ideas among the staff. They can also be used as a team-building opportunity. By participating in creative activities and having fun together, you will improve staff communications and motivation.

The course content involves the application of a range of drama strategies to provide teachers with a practical toolbox of ideas:

  • hot-seating
  • tableaux
  • improvisation
  • role play
  • conveying stories using character, action and narrative
  • creative use of sound and movement

The course structure involves:

  • pair, small group and whole group work

  • devising and ideas sharing
  • evaluation and feedback opportunities

Choose between twilight, half day or full day courses.
