National Storytelling Week

Before there was World Book Day, before there were even books, there were still stories...

The National Storytelling Society has been running for 24 years and National Storytelling Week (27th January - 3rd Febrauary) promotes and celebrates stories told live, using spoken word, sometimes called 'oral tradition'.

Folk tales, fairy-tales, myths, legends, poetry and even laws all started with oral tradition. These things were told out loud and passed from one teller to the next, down the generations.

Freshwater Theatre is always honouring storytelling tradition with our interactive workshops: why not welcome our Story Seeker to your school, figure out Folk Tales in French, or celebrate with a Story Hunt

So before World Book Day,

book Freshwater into your school with a story!

"It really helped to capture the imagination and support our learning in a fun way. An amazing experience for all the children!"
