Science Week UK

Science Week UK is promoted by the British Science Association (BSA). Actually covering a full ten days, this is a time to celebrate and participate in activities all about science, technology, engineering and maths. BSA supports teachers and other science communicators and inspires students, pupils and the general public! The aim of Science Week is to entertain, engage and educate.

We think this is a brilliant aim – it’s one of our aims too! We think the best way to learn about anything is through drama! We already have fun and fabulous science workshops that have been tried and tested in many schools. Our topic-based sessions explore the learning focus with physical movement, sound effects and children meeting our eccentric professor!

Give your children the grounding in the subject before they start to experiment or refresh key teaching points through a different style of learning science.

Science Week 2018 focuses on Exploration and Discovery, which allows for some great cross-curricular activity - even our Columbus and Armstrong workshop might fit this theme for your school? Whether you want to explore the deep seas or outer space, we have a Science workshop fresh from the Exploratorium, just for you:

Exploring the Outdoors:    Exploring Animals:
Animals, Habitats & Life Cycles    Healthy Eating
Plants and Growth           Evolution & Inheritance
Weather and Seasons     The Human Body
Discovering Physics:    Discovering the Planet:
Electricity            Materials
Forces & Motion     Space
Light and Shadows

To discover the planet even more, why not book one of our Geography Focus workshops: Rivers and Water or Environment Alert! These two workshops would fit in well with Science Week’s Citizen Science focus – cleaning up the oceans with The Plastic Tide.

Whatever you plan to do for Science Week, or throughout any term you teach Science – let us know your plans and book a great workshop for your school!
